Obiettivo del progetto LETIsmart è fornire massima autonomia e sicurezza alle persone non vedenti o ipovedenti in ambiente urbano. Il sistema si compone di due elementi da sostituire sul normale bastone bianco, senza però andare a modificare ergonomia, peso e caratteristiche di questo strumento di precisione. LETIsmart LUCE va a sostituire il segmento vicino alla punta con uno di uguali dimensioni ma capace di emettere una fonte luminosa bianca e pulsante; LETIsmart VOCE va a sostituire il manico del bastone bianco per ciechi con uno pressoché identico che all'interno contiene un sofisticato sistema che permette di informare il non vedente su quello che lo circonda.
