Centraline LoRa basate su tecnologia open source per l'irrigazione di precisione in remoto

LoRa device based on open source technologies for precision irrigation and remote field traffic control. The device is powered by battery and solar panel; it is equipped with soil moisture sensors, soil temperature, air quality and pluviometer; data transmission through LoRaWan technology. The system, through a dedicated web portal, allows to monitor the measured parameters and allows decisions support system based on a forecasting model trained with artificial intelligence algorithms. The system optimizes irrigation in the agricultural field operations by reducing water supplies. Furthermore, the system can support the farmer for in-field machine traffic control to avoid soil compaction. The system was developed within the Agridigit and Agri4.0 (PSR Trentino) projects.

Corrado Costa, Simone Vasta, Francesca Antonucci, Francesco Tocci

Corrado Costa received the M.Sc. degree with honours in Biology in 1998 and the Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology in 2004 in Rome (Italy). On 2001 he was employed as Assistant Engineer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (California, USA). From 2008 to 2010 he was a Postdoc at CREA-ING (Agricultural engineering research unit of the Consiglio per la ricerca in agricoltura e l’analisi dell’economia agraria). He is currently a confirmed Researcher at the at CREA-IT (Engineering and agri-food transformation research center of CREA; Monterotondo, Italy). From 2009 to 2013 he was vice-president of the section VII “Information and communication technologies” of the Italian Association of Agicultural Engineering (A.I.I.A.) and member of the European Society of Agricultural Engineers (EurAgEng), of the C.I.G.R. (International Commission of Agricultural Engineering) and of the CIGR Working Groups on Image Analysis and on Logistics. He received the Italian Associate Professor habitation on Agricultural Engineering on 2017. Coordinator of a national project, Scientific responsible of an operative unit of a European and 5 Italian projects; collaborator in 5 international and more than 30 Italian projects. Since 2003 is tutor for many B. Sc. And M.Sc. theses. Expert in the field of “Biology of fisheries and aquaculture”, “Zoogeography”, “Evolutive zoology” and “Marine Biology”. Editorial Board Member of 5 international journals and since 2006 reviewer for more than 55 international journals with IF. Winner of 2 prizes for his publications on 2011 and 2016. He has 4 patents and is author or co-author of over 285 publications among which 129 with Impact Factor (h-Index WoS = 29; g-index WoS = 40) .
