AstroMakers: from astronomical images to scientific data
Amateur Astronomers have been contributing significantly to the scientific research for several years, complementing the research done by large professional observatories: an exemplary case of “Citizen Science”.
Astronomical images, acquired from amateur astronomer with small telescopes and CCD sensor, contain inside many useful science data: photometric data, astrometric data, spectroscopic data, etc.
The workshop aims to show and explain the process and the methods used to extract and use these science data, starting from the image from telescope.
